SERGEANT NPC CONTACT

The Lodge is located on the hills near the town, large and strange. It contrasts a lot when compared to the rest of the town -- its gray and white walls are quite the change from the vibrant and colorful Cartesio, the plants and bushes that are planted on the lower levels of the Lodge only make the contrast more obvious. There are many windows, but no matter how much you look you don't see anyone passing behind them. If you didn't know better you'd think it was completely empty.

But it isn't empty. The Sergeant is there.

You won't get too far into the Lodge before you encounter the Sergeant. There he is in the lobby, standing in front of a door that leads deeper into the building. No matter at what time you come or what you do, he'll always be there, reading self-help books, or with a mirror, practicing his next speech/confrontation. When he's not facing all of you at once, he seems to be easier to talk with.

...oh. Oh, right! [The Sergeant laughs, cheerful] Hey, don't look at me like that! That was all the people who own the cinema. Not my fault the felt like making things convoluted -- the hassle they have to go through to get stuff out of that warehouse!

[It's something the Sergeant finds hilarious]

It's always like that. They actually put the key back in the machine after using it?

They didn't even bother washing it.

[Don't eat the popcorn at that cinema once it opens]

[Well. That sure is unfortunate for Millium and her love for gorging herself. He actually looks quite horrified at that.] Are there any other buildings with such convoluted security systems?

[cartesio]

I think there's one or two. Thankfully this isn't something common in this town, or else life would be very inconvenient.

[silvertongueheir]

[...] So, did you assign this task to us because you preferred to make us handle that puzzle?

[cartesio]

The right people for the right task. Don't get me wrong, I could have solved that anytime, but there's something about a puzzle that makes people shine.

For example, you. You solved it and showed your smarts. They wouldn't have been shown so clearly if that puzzle hadn't been there.

[silvertongueheir]

Oh, of course. [That flattery definitely makes him perk up.] And I suppose a similar principle applied to you bringing Jughead, since he's familiar with handling those projectors? As well as the more physically capable people to handle the sign?

[cartesio]

Precisely. That said, those who venture out of their zone of comfort and succeed are often the ones who deserve praise the most.

[And he absolutely encourages that]

Ah. Is that a hint on how to best win your favor in those events?

[cartesio]

Yes, pretty much. If you do want to get out of the town when this is all over, at least!
