SERGEANT NPC CONTACT

The Lodge is located on the hills near the town, large and strange. It contrasts a lot when compared to the rest of the town -- its gray and white walls are quite the change from the vibrant and colorful Cartesio, the plants and bushes that are planted on the lower levels of the Lodge only make the contrast more obvious. There are many windows, but no matter how much you look you don't see anyone passing behind them. If you didn't know better you'd think it was completely empty.

But it isn't empty. The Sergeant is there.

You won't get too far into the Lodge before you encounter the Sergeant. There he is in the lobby, standing in front of a door that leads deeper into the building. No matter at what time you come or what you do, he'll always be there, reading self-help books, or with a mirror, practicing his next speech/confrontation. When he's not facing all of you at once, he seems to be easier to talk with.

Of course! Trust me, I'd rather not to die.

[Not that he thinks his superior would kill him, but he sure doesn't want to ever give a reason for that to happen]

You sayin' he's that much stronger than you?

[ A villain giving another villain a peptalk, this is what this has come down to. ]

He could literally end my existence if he wanted to. One moment I'm here alive, the next I'm dead.

[And it's not like the Sergeant is defenseless]

True, he'd have to be near me, so as long as he's far away I'd be safe, I suppose, but I'm not going to give him reasons to try.

[amburere]

Sounds familiar, cept for the last part. [ Who know the Sergeant's boss was Shigaraki. ]

If that sounds familiar to you then one of the people you saw yesterday must be what makes it sound familiar.

[Or at least he supposes that. Only someone who has a boss who can get rid of you if they wanted can understand this -- and that boss is possibly who Dabi would see, the Sergeant supposes. He doesn't strike him as the sentimental type, from what he knows about Dabi]

You're not. [ A glance at the Sergeant from his post on the wall.] If you really wanted to speed this up you'd bring him here.

[cartesio]

I'm not interested in "speeding things up". This requires time and finesse. Hurrying it will only make it go badly. That's why you and not them was brought here right away -- they'd be of no help.

[amburere]

I'm flattered. [ Truly his sarcasm is impressive here; Blame Hawks for refining it more than usual. ] But I'm still not interested in doin' anything for you.

[cartesio]

[A light chuckle emerges from between the shadows on his face. Although Dabi's outright denying to cooperate, the Sergeant finds himself amused]

Fine by me. You're not leaving this town, then. I hope you enjoy small town existence.

[amburere]

[ ...hn. ] Doesn't that sound familiar too. [ The words are strikingly acrid and bitter, and he regrets saying them as much as letting his mind wander there in the first place. All that topic reminds him of is—oh-right. ]

Guess you do need me if you're not gonna encourage me to go for a walk like that kid did.

[cartesio]

[In the end of the day, the Sergeant needs everyone more than they all think, and that was something he hoped to keep under wraps. Unfortunately, Dabi seems to have made him notice it's not so easy to hide that. Encouraging Dabi to walk out of the town -- and achieving nothing, because he doesn't actually want that to happen -- won't hide this.

After careful consideration, the Sergeant decides...]

I think it's about time you go away.

[...to sidestep the topic and try to get Dabi to leave. Figures]

First you flatter me and now you're shooing me away? What a harsh master you are, Sergeant. [ Like before his tone is mockingly sarcastic, though it's notably more than it was prior. Fortunately for both of them he's pretty much done here too;he just has one last piece to add. What he actually came here to say in the first place. ]

One last thing. Next time you decide to kill someone to prove a point? Helps to make a spectacle of the corpse. Trust me. The media will eat it up too.
