SERGEANT NPC CONTACT

The Lodge is located on the hills near the town, large and strange. It contrasts a lot when compared to the rest of the town -- its gray and white walls are quite the change from the vibrant and colorful Cartesio, the plants and bushes that are planted on the lower levels of the Lodge only make the contrast more obvious. There are many windows, but no matter how much you look you don't see anyone passing behind them. If you didn't know better you'd think it was completely empty.

But it isn't empty. The Sergeant is there.

You won't get too far into the Lodge before you encounter the Sergeant. There he is in the lobby, standing in front of a door that leads deeper into the building. No matter at what time you come or what you do, he'll always be there, reading self-help books, or with a mirror, practicing his next speech/confrontation. When he's not facing all of you at once, he seems to be easier to talk with.

She likes playing twenty questions. That automatically puts her way below anything close to "favorite".

[Because he hates having to walk on eggshells and be careful with his answers]

I'm sure I forfeited the right to not answer when I keep leaving those doors open.

[He does often wonder why he's letting himself go through this. Maybe he had been hoping to influence those who came to talk to him. So far, that hasn't gone as expected]

You really are fucking worse than Shigaraki at this.

[cartesio]

Oh, shut up. You wouldn't be doing any better.

Why d'ya think I'm the leader of the Vanguard and he isn't? [ That sure is fire flickering briefly to life on his arms. Normally subdued volatility and alcohol are a good mix. ]

[The Sergeant raises his hands, ready to defend himself if necessary. He hopes Dabi will have enough self-control not to do something stupid, but you never know, really]

Because he had other things to do? Those who should be in charge often leave the role to other people -- even if they're not suited for the job.

[ There's so much he could say here, but there's a reason he showed up while only a few beer in as opposed to wasted. He shifts his weight from his right leg to his left, but thankfully there are no more pyrotechnics. ]

You've got a lot to learn, Sergeant. Strategy, management and win conditions aren't as simple as you think they are.

Either you succeed or you don't. There's literally no other result for anything.

[Pretty black and white vision of the world. But yeah, he knows Dabi's right, there's still a lot to learn.

Which he refuses to acknowledge aloud, but from the way he avoided touching that, it's pretty obvious he has no rebuttal]

...ha. If that was case I wouldn't be here. [ And this is veering into dangerous territory, so he's going to make to leave. He can't afford to go there anymore than he already has. ]
