SERGEANT NPC CONTACT

The Lodge is located on the hills near the town, large and strange. It contrasts a lot when compared to the rest of the town -- its gray and white walls are quite the change from the vibrant and colorful Cartesio, the plants and bushes that are planted on the lower levels of the Lodge only make the contrast more obvious. There are many windows, but no matter how much you look you don't see anyone passing behind them. If you didn't know better you'd think it was completely empty.

But it isn't empty. The Sergeant is there.

You won't get too far into the Lodge before you encounter the Sergeant. There he is in the lobby, standing in front of a door that leads deeper into the building. No matter at what time you come or what you do, he'll always be there, reading self-help books, or with a mirror, practicing his next speech/confrontation. When he's not facing all of you at once, he seems to be easier to talk with.

[It's only polite, after all.] Still, I admit I was worried until I saw him for myself.

[Gerard actually chirps happily upon seeing the Sergeant as well, though he doesn't approach. After a bit, Franciscus nudges him.] Fine, go ahead. [The Archeops lets out another happy chirp and hops closer, extending his head towards the Sergeant in hopes for a pat.]

[Oho, this he didn't expect either. The Sergeant slowly approaches closer to the Archeops, petting his head carefully]

He's kind of cute. I hadn't seen anyone like him ever before. I wonder...

You say these are replicated from fossils, right?

[God this is the one pure thing in this entire damn town.]

It seems few people here have. Yes, he was brought back from a fossil. Though they are capable of breeding, for people who can't afford a first-generation Pokemon.

[cartesio]

[Makes sense, hm...]

...if it was brought back from a fossil then it must be because of his DNA...I see...

[Then he makes a request:]

Let me keep a feather.

...for what purpose? [Franciscus seems ready to call Gerard back, but he doesn't do it yet. Technically the Sergeant could probably grab a feather himself right now.]

[cartesio]

[He's not going to pluck a feather, that'd be rude! And he sure doesn't want to bother Gerard]

I'd like to study this species' genetic data.

[silvertongueheir]

You have the facilities for that here? [He actually seems curious about that.]

[cartesio]

Yes.

[......]

...I shouldn't have said that.

[...]

They're largely inactive.

...what's it worth to you?

...I can't say. It'd get into confidential territory.

[He sounds disappointed. He's pretty sure this means he won't get one]

Then I'm afraid I'll have to say no for now. [And maybe keep a closer eye on Gerard's shed feathers.] Though I suppose I can bring him back just to visit if you wish.
